Author: J.D. Hollyfield
When a psychic tells Natalie Nixon her life is about to be upended by a mysterious stranger, she laughs it off. After all, she has everything she’s ever wanted—a successful bakery, a the perfect boyfriend, and the keys to her dream house.
Who could possibly make her want to throw all that away?
Then Miles Haas comes back to town.
But he’s no stranger—they’ve known each other since high school. Plus, he’s only around for the summer, he’s still a shameless playboy, and he makes a living writing articles for a men’s magazine with titles like ‘Should You Bang the Boss’s Daughter? A Flowchart’ and ‘Butt Stuff for Beginners: A Field Guide.’
He’s not the man of her dreams, and she’s not about to abandon everything she’s worked so hard for just for a little fun. Except he makes her laugh like no one else, smells like heaven, and looks sexy as hell in those panty-melting glasses.
**SOME SORT OF CRAZY is a full-length standalone romance.*
Amy W’s rating: 5 of 5 stars
Miles and Natalie have something that many couples sorely lack. History. Positive history that is. They are friends and have never crossed that line. But that does not mean they both haven’t secretly thought about it. This was a sweet and sexy friends to lovers story. I could not stop reading it once I finally was able to dedicate time to immersing myself in the story.
I found Natalie identifiable on more levels that I am comfortable with. I also found Miles and Dan’s characters are a tad bit to realistic because I have known many “Miles” and “Dan’s” in my lifetime. But that is what I liked about this series these are people that I could know in real life and I could like (at least most of them)
I love that Melanie Harlow may be writing a new series but she never forgets to throw in a couple of “Frenched” characters. As usual with any of her books I laughed out loud, swore at my Kindle and had to fan myself because the sexy scenes were super-HOT!
This series is HIGHLY recommended. All books in her series are able to be read as standalones BUT for the full story I recommend you read “Some Sort of Happy”

I have a passion for the bad boys, those covered in tattoos, sexy smirks, ripped jeans, fast cars, motorcycles and of course, the sweet girls that try to tame them and win their hearts. My debut series, Ashes & Embers, follows the lives of rock band members as they find, and sometimes lose, the loves of their lives.
Born and raised a Jersey girl, I now reside in beautiful New Hampshire with my husband and our multitude of furry pets and spend most of my time writing, reading, and vacuuming.
He was the myth and the legend of our small town. But no one
knew the truth… except me.
My childhood was stolen by a monster. I’ve forgotten what
love feels like. What happiness feels like. What hope feels like. I am numb.
He’s possibly as damaged as I am. Maybe even more. Scarred
just as much on the inside as the outside. Just like me. He doesn’t speak. He
doesn’t smile. He hides in the woods like an animal. I should be scared of him. But I’m not. He’s
the only one that has ever made me feel. And I want to make him feel, too.
I finished this book a few days ago and I am finally writing the review. I had a hard time putting my opinion into words without spoiling the book.
Let’s start off with a recap. Tyler Grace is a recluse because he of a traumatic event that left him scarred. Holly Daniels was taken and never seen again until 10 years later she is found. They are linked and they will embark on a voyage of healing and recovery but not without several obstacles, including their own demons being some of the biggest, along the way.
I have read the Torn about 10 times and listened to it on Audibles twice. I own the paperback and it is signed. Needless to say I loved it. ABSOLUTELY loved it. SO Tied had a LOT to live up to. And you know what? It not only lived up to Torn, but surpassed it. The feels in this story are so palpable you practically experience every scar and emotion as if you are in the book. It is not a happy story by any means and it shows a realistic (IMO) view of what it is like to LIVE life after so much has been taken from you. It also touched on the emotions of the loved ones around you.
Holly is so strong and determined to be normal I almost clapped a few times when she showed backbone and stood up to those who that would hold her back. On the other hand as romantic and wonderful Tyler was I found his reluctance to grow a bit off putting.
Ultimately, after the biggest obstacle was tackled they both came to the same place and we get a happy for now ending, and I was surprisingly OK with that.
There was a lot of supporting characters in this story, some I LOVED and some I wanted to throttle! WENDY! I hope we get a story about Zac and Anna not to mention more on Tanners ongoing problem.
OVERALL this book was FANTASTIC and guaranteed to MAKE YOU CRY and there are some possible TRIGGERS. Carian Cole has cemented herself as a one click author for this reviewer.
**THIS BOOK CAN BE READ AS A STANDALONE**
Life couldn’t be any brighter for art dealer Christina Daniels. At the top of her career, she has no problem flaunting just how perfect her little world has become.
When tragedy strikes back home, Christina is forced to put everything on hold to return back to a past she’s tried so hard to escape. Including a love she regrets letting go.
Ian Whitman has only one regret and it was letting his first love walk out of his life. Now that she’s returned, his heart won’t give her up twice without a fight.
As secrets are revealed, can Ian soothe her heart while convincing her that a place she tried so hard to run away from is the place she’s destined to stay?
Will love get a second chance in the face of tragedy?
What do you when you have everything you thought you wanted but then realize you have lost yourself along the way?
Chrissy ran away to LA to escape the small town and an abusive mother that she so hated. In doing so she left behind her loving sister and the one man she loved without a backwards glance.
A tragedy bring Chrissy home to the one place she never wanted to return to and she is confronted by the realities of her own selfishness. She realizes that in trying to pursue her dreams she shattered the lives of those that loved her most, namely her sister and Ian, the love of her life. She also missed out on events and time being with people she will never be able to get back. That is a heavy cross to bear.
This story is about finding yourself after you realize the life you built for yourself is not all you ever thought it would be. Coming home has made Chrissy confront her demons and Ian. It also forces her to grow up and let go her painful past. There are things that you cannot change and we have to live with that for the rest of our lives but that does not mean that you have to let that keep you from being happy.
However, even though Chrissy is ready to let her old life go and possibly have the chance at a life with Ian, her life in LA is not ready to let her go. Namely the job and sort of fiancé she left behind.
Ian knows what if feels like to lose the love of your life all too clearly. He still loves Chrissy and will not let her go a second time. Making her see that there is a life together is his goal in life. His life is in this small town and he wants Chrissy to choose to stay. He is not above using his sexy charm and the memories of what they had to get his way.
I LOVED this book. I cried, I laughed out loud (got crazy looks from my husband more than once) and screamed at Chrissy and Ian more than once. Both of them needed a good smack in the head! Through it all Ian is the man most girls dream of falling for when they grow up.
Most importantly Chrissy’s journey was an all too familiar one for me. Leaving behind people you love because you think, that they and you, are better off with you gone is a very hard decision. Just because you leave people and a place behind doesn’t mean you let them go in your heart. Sometimes those people ARE your heart.
Be prepared with some tissue and wine because you will need both.
